I had one of those proud dad moments today. I was looking through my son Shahmeer’s website and Case File, and it was a pleasure to see the person he has chosen to show the world.
You think you know your kids. Then you see the things they care about, the work they have done, and the details they chose to share, and you realize there is always more to learn about who they are becoming.
Shahmeer’s story includes a Taekwondo black belt, service on a campus medical response team, fundraising for The Citizens Foundation, and interests ranging from sports and poetry to a very committed trading-card collection. He is also building a career in sales.
What I liked most is that his site doesn’t read like a résumé. It feels like him: his experiences, interests, and personality in one place.
As a dad, that makes me proud. Keep going, Shahmeer. And yes, I’m still waiting with you for that Leafs Stanley Cup.
