Accessibility

Accessibility statement.

I want hashmi.ca to be usable by everyone, including people who use assistive technology.

Our goal

This site is designed with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, level AA, as its target. It is an ongoing effort and I do not claim that every page fully meets that standard.

What is in place

  • A “skip to content” link and a clear heading structure on every page.
  • Full keyboard navigation with visible focus outlines, including the menu, the light and dark mode switch and the photo viewer.
  • Light and dark display modes, and text sized in relative units so it scales with your browser settings.
  • Respect for the “reduce motion” setting: animations and automatic slideshow movement are limited or switched off.
  • Descriptive text for meaningful images, and labeled form fields.

Known limitations

Some older articles and photos may be missing descriptive text, and embedded videos or documents from other services may not be fully accessible. I am improving these over time.

Tell me about a problem

If something on this site is hard to use, please send me a message or reach out on LinkedIn. Tell me the page and what you were trying to do, and I will work on a fix or an alternative format.
