What I Learned at IBM’s Automation Bootcamp

What a fantastic week in Austin at IBM’s Automation Bootcamp. I had the opportunity to spend time with colleagues discussing engineering lifecycle management, DevOps, Spectrum Computing, and our work with partners.

My session looked at IBM’s history of investing in engineering and automation, including acquisitions such as Rational Software, Telelogic, Green Hat, UrbanCode, and Platform Computing. Those capabilities continue to shape how teams approach software delivery, quality, and compute.

The best part of the week was the interaction: an engaged group, thoughtful questions, and practical conversations about the work clients are doing. Thank you to ZPro Solutions for supporting lunch and helping make the discussion welcoming and collaborative.

Special thanks to Steve Windsor for the planning and coordination that brought the bootcamp together. I left encouraged by the team’s interest in modern engineering, automation, and high-performance computing.
