I was excited to attend IBM Bob Developer Day in Ottawa with the IBM Canada Data and AI team. The developer-first format was a welcome change: no slides, just code, technical deep dives, and hands-on work.
The agenda covered AI agents, Java modernization, secure development, mainframe innovation, MCP, watsonx Orchestrate, and enterprise software development. I especially appreciated the opportunity to hear directly from engineers building the platform.
Events like this are useful when people can test ideas, ask detailed questions, and compare approaches with peers. I left looking forward to seeing how teams apply these tools in their own environments.
